A new report has shown that a medical student who has a drug and gambling habit could leave University with debts of over £250,000. A student leader told us: "This level of debt is simply unacceptable. If poor students were put off becoming a doctor by the dangers of getting into debt, this really will put them off even more."

Cheaper drugs would allow students to save thousands of pounds a year, a study by students from the University of East Babentry reveals. "Students who save only 10% off a key of heroin, for instance, could leave University with over £2000 less debts over a three year course," a young woman with a calculator told us.
