Emin's pivotal Brit Art metaphor of
unfettered sauciness in the great outdoors
has been burnt to a cinder, sources
say. The tent, which had the names of
all Emin's lovers embroidered throughout
the work, was part of Charles Saatchi's
Brit Art "masterpiece" collection
which has been burned to a frazzle.
Charles Saatchi is being urged to put
on display the insurance claim form
for the loss which could itself turn
into a work of art in due course. The
original, unembroided, tent, costs £39.99
at all good outdoor stores. It is believed
Saatchi paid one kerchillion dollars
for the work.
