A
study commissioned by campaign group The Anti-Feather League, says that people
who spot birds are 'up to 10 times more likely to catch bird flu'. Bird
flu favours those 'wearing damp old parkas', concluded the report. Bird
flu, which is carried by birds, has recently been discovered in France, only 50
miles away. Those
who eat poultry and bird products (such as fish fingers) are not thought to be
in any danger yet, although so far not everything has been checked by experts. In
the event of a Bird flu epidemic in Britain up to 500 million people could die,
a record. |
