Pensioner, Gerald Bungley, of Upper Lowerstowerbridge, says he is overwhelmed by the generosity of locals who all clubbed together to buy him a new cock.

His old cock, Percy, died three weeks ago of exhaustion.

Mr Bungley says he will name the new cock, Hoop, after his wife, Mary.
