Speculation is growing that the Prime Minister, Tony Blair, was wearing only his underpants when he became the only serving Prime Minister in history to be interviewed by the police.

It is standard security procedure to interview suspects in just their underpants in certain circumstances, we have been assured by former employees of the police service.
