1960's Eurovision Classic, "Boom Bang a Bang!",
is to be re-released to coincide with events unfolding in
the Gulf, we have been unreliably informed.
The
song, which, in English, refers to the sound of a girl's heart
when she is near to her 'love honey', but when translated
into Norwegian is about a teddy bear who has lost his hat,
is tipped to storm the charts, eventually hitting the number
one position around July (about 2 months late). The French
loved the original, as did the German's.
Could
this year's Eurovision Song Contest be the bridge that brings
the world together again? You know, it could happen, especially
if Israel turn up with another transsexual entry...
Note
for our USA readers: The Eurovision Song Contest is an annual
event in which European nations compete to create the best
Euro-Pop song. (This is the sort of thing your parents let
you sit up to watch when you are a kid.) Because of the language
difficulties the winner is generally the one that sounds best
when banged really loud on a tin drum. Unfortunately this
yellow bit is not an April Fools joke. (By the way the Israeli
transsexual entry was brilliant, and it won that year.)
